I bought this new kilt, Royal Regiment of Scotland army surplus, from a UK dealer last year but realize now, after a few tries at wearing it, that I bought a size too long for me. This is waist size 36-40 but the length is for a man 6′ 2″ or 6’3″ or even taller. I’m 6′ 1″ and this is just too long (27″ drop) for me to wear easily, even allowing for the old way regimental kilts were worn very high up past the waist. This one just has too much rise for my needs. Needs to go to a good home, so I can look for a better-fitting replacement! As the photos show, excellent condition (I had to take out the basting stitch on arrival, it was new and unworn). Height/waist/breech measurements tagged as 182/97/106 cm. The “Government” (Black Watch) tartan in the current lighter shade, heavyweight wool; box pleats, pleated to stripe, no fringe to front panel. No sporran/belt loops on the back, as per military fashion (you don’t need ’em!) . $175 and shipped free within the US, overseas will need to pay shipping costs.
