SOLD is this what I believe to be Vintage R G Laurie Ebony?? chanter. I’ve had several ebony sets in the distant past i am just clearing out what is left of what I have.
The chanter is much darker than any of the 10 or 12 Blackwood chanters Have used or owned. The Chanter is in exc. plus condition showing light finish wear overall. The length of the chanter is 14 6/16″ approx. in length. The ivory sole is lovely with a concave top surface and a delicate raised lip just inside of the rim on both top and bottom. The ivory sole has a warm yellow appearance that only comes with good age. The width across the sole is just a smidge under 3″. The diameter of the wood bulb is very close to 1 1/4″. The bulb is marked in small caps R G Lawrie Regal. Aside from light wear there is no damage. The chanter is uncarved.
