This is a vintage skein dugh that I purchased in 2001 from Scottish Sword & Shield in Federal Way, Washington. It was believed that it was dated in late 19th or early 20th century. When I received the skein dugh there was also enclosed a copy of a page from some publication that would help in identifying makers marks along with a short handwritten note telling me that with the help of a magnifying glass I could faintly see a makers mark on the back of the grip. I have tried to find a mark over the years and have not been able to find it. The stone has a small chip in it of which I have attached a pic to show. I am not certain if the stone is just glass or cairngorm. I also want to say that the fittings on the knife are brass and not nickel or silver. I am asking $300.00 and the buyer will also pay postage and insurance if desired. Paypal is the only method that I currently use.
