For sale was a half set of Uilleann pipes (chanter in D with three drones [bass, tenor, alto] also in D). It has sold. The chanter and drones are made of cocobolo, with brass fittings and boxwood mounts. The chanter has one key (C natural) so that it’s easy to play the G major scale. The chanter reeds (2) are original. One works well, the other needs work. The drone reeds are brass with plastic tongues, very stable, and will last a long time. The drone stock is made of cocobolo and has a stopper (see youtube link below). Both bag and bellows are original, in excellent shape, and airtight. I bought this set over ten years ago from instrument maker Neil O’Grady but have not taken the time to learn to play them as I have been playing music for border pipes, Galician pipes, Bulgarian gaida, and the GHB in the bands I play in. If you want to hear a Neil O’Grady Uilleann pipe, check out uilleann piper Joseph Sampson in this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diwDJavCvBs, where he is playing a Neil O’Grady Uilleann half set. If you’re interested in one item in the whole set, let me know. Also, if you want a hard-shell, wood case, it can be included for $40. Shipping cost of pipes, with or without case, comes to between $50 and $80, depending on the distance. Buyer pays shipping costs.
