C. E. (CE) Kron Great Highland Bagpipes (GHB) half-sterling silver set (standard bore) in very good condition – Excellent workmanship. Sterling silver ring caps, ferules, tuning slides and part of blow pipe made by British silver maker Dalman & Narborough in Birmingham, England. Projecting mounts are made from imitation ivory. There are a couple of chips on one of them (see pic), but overall they are all in excellent shape. The chanter and all drone stocks are hand turned, combed, beaded and made from African Blackwood. The pipes were made by Charlie Kron (when Dave Atherton was still employed there) between 1992 and 1997 – I bought them in 1998 for $4,000.
The bag cover and drone cords are in excellent shape and the interior bag is a Canmore synthetic, Gore-Tex type bag – also in excellent shape. There are drone enhancers installed on all the drones inside the bag. I replaced one of the drone stocks that had a crack in it years ago. It was professionally done by Pipeline (then located in Haskell, NJ) and is an exact match for the other 2 drone stocks. C. E. Kron stamping is on all other wood pieces. Extras include a padded carry bag, drones and chanter reeds, hemp, tuner, etc. Great sounding pipes! $2,700. Free shipping within Continental US – International shipping and customs rates apply if outside US.
