African Blackwood Hardie BagPipe, age unknown but believed to be from the 60’s. Subject bagpipe has undergone two restorations. The first was by Roddy MacLellan in the mid 1990’s. Roddy installed Sterling Silver projecting mounts, ferrules, and caps. The ferrules and caps are decorated with an engraved cast bronze band, referred to as “Woodland”. Projecting mounts are plain sterling silver, unique in profile, fashioned by hand and Hallmarked. The second restoration was just recently performed by Rick Pettigrew of Dunbar Bagpipes, Rick completely refurbished the Pipe replacing one tenor top.
This is a Beautiful and Unique Bagpipe which will appeal to people who appreciate Roddy’s silver work. Roddy worked for Tiffany’s in New York before opening his own business and is a skilled Licensed Silver Smith. A Certificate of Authenticity is available upon request.
