I bought these new from the maker in 2020 and have been playing them for the last three and a half years. There’s not a lot to say other than Dave is renowned as one of the best modern era bagpipe makers. He uses old world techniques and craftsmanship with incredible attention to detail. The 2022 Northern Meeting Gold Medal was won with a set of Atherton bagpipes. They have featured in and won many solo competitions and in Grade 1 pipe bands. This set is in excellent condition and has been very well looked after. The set is African blackwood with imitation ivory projecting mounts and sterling silver slides, ferrules and bands. The blowpipe is brass lined. Price for sticks and stocks, happy to have people try them in Glasgow. Genuinely sad to let them go but I have another set that has more sentimental value and I would rather this set was played as deserved.
