Gibson fireside pipes in the key of A. The pipes are made from cocobolo, with brass fittings. The set is circa about 2015. I have too many bagppipes and am cleaning out the herd……
I just purchased a brand new set of reeds (drones and chanter) so these are good to go. Just in time for the holidays!
The brass looks pretty good but there are very small pits in places. You really only notice this looking up close. The pipes have a sweet sound. There are three drones: Bass, Baritone, Tenor. Each drone can be individually shut off by twisting the drone stock at the bottom.
The sale includes the full set of smallpipes, a brand new set of reeds, Gibson smallpipes carrying bag and bag cover. The bag cover’s trim was falling apart a bit so I have new pretty red cord to replace it (has not been sewn on yet).
If you were to purchase a set like this from Giibson today the full set would be over a thousand dollars.
