These were my father-in-law’s pipes and he took good care of them. He didn’t get to play them very much. He kept all the receipts and paperwork from when he bought them from The Tartan Thistle in 2002.
These are still being sold by Gibson on their website. They are African blackwood with combing and beading. Imitation Ivory projecting mounts and caps, and stainless steel ferrules. They come with a nice lockable hard case with key, 3 Wygent synthe-drone reeds, 3 Caldwell pipe chanter reeds (easy), 6 Warnock Broad chanter reeds (easy), 2 rolls of hemp string, adjustable blow pipe, corduroy bag cover, black drone cords and tassels, Gibson poly chanter, chanter cap, bore oil, drone brushes, chanter brushes, new oval mouthpiece protector, and a set of rubber drone corks. I will include all of the original paperwork, maintenance sheet and receipts from Tartan Thistle.
I had Mike, the Montana Bagpiper, come over and check these out. He didn’t find any flaws. He was able to play the chanter and said it is in tune. No issues with the insides of the pipes, no cracks. They look nice and clean. He applied some bore oil and we disposed of the old leather bag and water trap so you will need to purchase these. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I can take Venmo or Paypal. These will be carefully packaged for shipping or you can pick up if local.
