For sale:
A mid to late 1970’s set of Glencoe Canada pipes, stamped in all cord guides. These were made by Matt Marshall in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada after he immigrated in 1974. He was a master turner at Lawrie prior to the move. This set sounds lovely and looks lovely. It has some wear, as seen in the pictures. There is one small ding in the bass drone top, and three superficial cracks in the imitation ivory. The original blowpipe stock was badly damaged and a replica has been made with the original ferrule. The chanter stock ferrule has been replaced by Dunbar very recently.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this pipe. It’s got a great balance with a dark, robust bass. It’s easy to reed, though I’ve found the greatest tone to be with a full set of Kinnaird Edge, or Edge tenors and a cane bass.
All questions welcome. If you’d like more info on Matt or Glencoe, check Ringo’s page: https://www.thebagpipemuseum.com/the-makers/glencoe/ Some of this information has been provided by me, as I was fortunate enough to have met and shared a few pints with Matt a few years back. I do also have Matt’s story documented in the event the buyer would like it.
The sent comes with a COA from Ringo. The listing is for sticks and stocks.
Thanks for looking.
