Here is a very nice set of piper’s Choice Scottish Smallpipes. They are made of polypenco trimmed with imitation ivory. They have a Bannatyne Extended Small bag with moisture control tube. They come with a chanter reed protector cap, velvet bag and silk cords. The reeds are a Gibson practice chanter reed and a set of EzeeDrone inverted tongue smallpipe reeds. The pipes sound beautiful, I just got a set of MacMurchie full sized pipes, and am considering getting a set of Walsh shuttle pipes as well.
There is a bonus to these pipes – they come with an Alto drone as well! You can change it out for the center tenor and play them like a set of border pipes. These smallpipes normally come either one way or the other – standard bass and two tenor drones, OR bass, alto and tenor which play A-e-a, octaves with a 5th. I generally play with the two tenors, but you can go either way. It comes with a bunch of bagpipe cord ties, as you need to cut one of the middle tenor ties to change out the drones. A further feature is that these pipes play in A440, so you can play with other instruments such as guitar, hammered dulcimer, etc.
These pipes, with the bass-alto-tenor configuration sell for $699 at Henderson’s imports, and with the bass-tenor-tenor configuration they sell for $589.95 at the Pipers Cove, so with these you are basically getting two sets of pipes in one. I will throw in Logan’s Highland Bagpipe Tutor as well. There is also a soft AAR case for them, not shown.
I estimate shipping to be about $35 in the continental US. Let me know if you have any questions!
