Here’s a great deal for a bagpiper of any level.
Vintage R.G. Hardie Bagpipes, African Blackwood and Catalin Full Set (pumpkins, ya get clout for that now lol). They’re from the late 80s or early 90s, some think older. I have been playing this set for almost 30 years, they’ve been wonderful to me in countless performances and competitions. I’m passing them along as I am finally getting a new set. The pipes work well and are solid. The bores are smooth, professionally re-honed around 2006, the drone read seats were also threaded which is a great addition. There is a crack (not through) in a tenor top section that can be fixed, replaced, or left as is. It does not affect the playing of the instrument in any way. There is a crack in the blowpipe stock, trying to come through, still air tight and does not affect the playing of the instrument in any way, it can be easily replaced. There are a few dings and scratches here and there but overall they still look good and sound awesome.
This set comes with a brand new (installed) canmore hybrid small size pipe bag, never used new tube style water trap with capsule and chamois from J. Higgins. New bag cover with zipper and dycem no-slip patch. New cords. Two new easy chanter reeds from J. Higgins. New Ezee high absorption drone reeds with inverted bass. Ayrshire bagpipe company big bore blowstick. Original blow stick. Original Chanter. New R.G. Hardie Infinity Poly Chanter. Early 2000s blackwood Gibson Chanter. New Targe hard-sided, locking bagpipe case from Henderson… and probably a few other odds and ins I’ll throw in like stock corks and extra reeds.
Sad to seem em go but it’s time, they should be played. They’ll make a great primary or spare set. $800 shipped, only shipping to the USA at this time. I’ll add another pic or two soon. Thanks for looking!
