I will be at the ScotsFest Highland Games in Town Center Park, Coquitlam, BC on June 20th if you want to check these pipes out in person…just message me so we can arrange when and where to meet.
These Dunfion Highland Bagpipes were originally purchased in 2002 and used less than 1 year and infrequently at that. They are fully combed and beaded (dirk handle carving and beads on drones) with imitation ivory projecting mounts, stainless steel ferrules and slides, navy blue silk cords, polypenco pipe chanter (Dunfion), Ezeedrone reeds, 5 pipe chanter reeds (unknowm make) and reed storage container, a practice goose attachment (for your practice chanter), rubber stoppers for drone tops, a roll of hemp, and a pipe box.
The pipes themselves have stainless steel ring caps, a medium Ross canister zipper pipe bag, and a Hunting MacFarlane tartan zipper bag cover. A unique feature of Dufion pipes is the quality and longevity of these pipes, such as the insertion of a brass sleeve into the top housing of each tuning pin (see photos). It is a more time-consuming and hence expensive way of making pipes, but it ensures that years and years of use won’t change the tuning precision of the drones. These pipes have a very steady and mellow drone sound.
Price is $1200 Canadian dollars + any shipping required.
Original purchase price in 2002 was $1727.50 USD
