These Shepherd’s, in my opinion, do not produce an outstanding sound, and were not played by someone prominent as far as I know. The ring caps are imitation, with 2 very minor dings on the bass cap and one on one tenor cap. The ferrules are fairly plain nickle, with one being put back on upside down, maybe after coming off before my time with them. The bag is a canmore medium without a zip.
I state the obvious with these pipes without hesitation or regret because…
For sale is an honest set of nice sounding, well made Highland bagpipes of 21 years old. With Henderson Harmonic drone reeds (not supplied as they are my own) as well as older Henderson drone reeds, these pipes sound just fine, better with my own collaborated set of drone reeds (I would say that, wouldn’t I.)
Set includes..
Stocks & sticks, all in good order apart from the ring caps as mentiomed. This does not show up unless close up and does not interfere with the look of the pipes.
I have the original chanter also (it was in that ‘safe place’, you know) instead of the McCallum pictured.
Red cords.
Viewing would be advantageous to the new owner, but I can send in the UK for extra postage.
Message me with any queries on these or my other items.
Postage outside UK is heavy, but I will check if required.
I also am looking for good order long practice chanters, preferably wooden but not exclusively, so if you have any I might like, this can offset the total price somewhat, just let me know. Piob Mohr, Naill, Shepherd, etc. Hardie not so much, unless of older stock.
