1940s McPhee Bagpipes.
These bagpipes were made in the 1940s by the McPhee brothers here in Wellington. McPhees started making bagpipes for the NZ Police Pipe Band, and these pipes were purchased in 1948 by the current owners deceased husband. I am selling these on behalf of her. They have been played about 4 times in their life and are still in new condition. They have no cracks in the drones and have the original cane drone reeds which believe it or not still work with the steady tone that McPhee pipes were known for. Selling with old bag (hmmm?) will need replacing, McPhee practice chanter, bag cover, cords, Sinclair chanter and a Logan’s tutor music book. Would be perfect for a new piper or someone competing in grades novice, D, C or B grades.
