I am selling this set of early 1920s Robertson bagpipes, probably between 1920 and 1923. No cracks or splits. I suspect they are ebony. No square indent on middle bass drone section, indicating early 20s manufacture. The scribe line is in the center of the ferrules, another reliable dating mark of early 1920s manufacture. Robertsons are a very desirable set of bagpipes. The blowstick and stock have been replaced at some point, and I have seen the same on a few other sets of early Robertsons. Unusual!
Mounts: Wood button mounts, flat combing, catalin drone caps probably replacements for the earlier casein caps, because they tended to break), nickel ferrules with scribe line engraved in the center.
Chanter: Dunbar poly chanter made in 1999.
Bag: L&M hide bag
Bag cover: Green velvet.
Case: Hard shell Pipe Major’s case with accessory compartment and straps for holding music.
Reeds: New Ezee Drone, two tenor and inverted bass. New Ezee Drone medium chanter reed.
Accessories: Yellow hemp, beeswax.
Shipping within the United States should be about $110, if it is more I will absorb it, if it’s less I will refund the difference.
Offers will be considered, and possibly a part trade for a set of Piper’s Choice small pipes, RG Hardy twist trap practice pipes or other small pipes.
