This beautiful great highland bagpipe was turned at the Robertson shop in Edinburgh, circa 1930.
The pipes are African Blackwood, natural ivory, and hallmarked sterling silver. The pipes are in excellent condition, no cracks or chips in the blackwood or ivory. Drone bores are straight with no modifications. No dents in the hallmarked sterling silver, the silver was added by the original owner in the 1970’s. All exterior profiles are correct with Robertson specifications. All sections are original except for the newer blowpipe stock that was turned to match the original when the pipes received a general refurbishment in 1998. The drone tone is what should be expected from Robertson, robust and steady.
