Barely played blackwood drones with original chanter and imitation ivory mounts. Nickel ferrules and silver band rings and slides, with just a few scuffs from storage, otherwise untouched. Sold by the St. James family, who received the final shipments from the Kilgour workshop, and these bagpipes are reputedly the last set of bagpipes George Kilgour produced for export. The maker was trained at the Robertson workshop and made pipes in that tradition: brilliant blend of tenor and bass with great stability. An instrument of impressive quality and historical significance for fans of the Robertson family of pipemakers.
