Custom Atherton Legacy model set made to order by Dave Atherton in late 2018. Played for the 2019 season and then sat during the entire lockdown.
ABW with sterling silver ferrules and bands on the tops. Plain ABW tuning slides (I chose this to reduce weight). Bushings and button mounts also made of African Blackwood.
One of the great things about Dave’s pipes are all of the parts are threaded and fitted – not like mass produced pipes where the threads are typically plastic pieces attached to the various parts.
I planned on keeping this set forever and passing it on but recent economic realities are painting a different picture. Pipe is currently tied into a Murray sheepskin that has lots of play left in it. There’s a split- stock/water trap also right now. I still have the original chanter stock (never been used/installed). The blowpipe was custom made to my height and I’m short – only about 5’6″ so you may want to use your own blowpipe. No chanter included with this sale, however I can add a poly Colin Kyo chanter that is carved on a few notes if the buyer wants it.
