I bought these pipes new in 2017 on the suggestion of my instructor. They are great and much, much better than my previous set. Athertons are known for their quality and stability. And it’s true- our tuner would comment on my pipes many times in the tuning circle. They are rock solid and well built. If you are not familiar with Atherton pipes, take some time to learn about them on the internet. They are impressive.
I have taken good care of these pipes. They are oiled and maintained. The cap on the bass drone has a small ding where it came into contact with a door, but this can be easily replaced, buffed out, or ignored. I opted for simple pipes that do not have engraving and if you like that style, these pipes will be a good fit for you for years to come.
I am selling the pipes because I am turning away from piping to other musical interests that I have had for a long time.
These pipes are “sticks only” at the price listed. The bag and cords are also available at a small additional cost, as are many, many piping additions (chanters both wood and poly, multiple sets of reeds, you name it.) Let me know if you are interested in any or all.
