I am selling my Ayrshire Smallpipes in C. I have had this set for almost exactly 2 years, and bought them brand new from Ayrshire Bagpipes in Scotland.
This set is made of Acetyl and they have brass ferrules, so you can rest assured that they are very durable! This set comes with a Baritone drone which can be tuned to either the 4th or 5th note from the tonic, for some lovely effects depending on which tune you are playing. You can also tune the Bass and the Tenor drone a whole step up from the tonic, which allows you to play certain tunes in a new way for a whole different type of enjoyment.
The Key of C is quite beautiful, and the chanter is a comfortable size even for somebody with big hands like me. I have rehemped all the joints for airtightness, and in the two years I’ve owned them I’ve never had a single issue with the bellows or the pipe bag leaking. I also added a grommet and a key ring at the tip of the arm strap, which allows easy loosening and tightening with one hand.
This is a gorgeous, beautiful sounding set.
