Everything a new piper needs to start their musical journey. 1960’s era Grainger & Campbell blackwood bagpipes, fully combed and beaded with nickel ferrules, and imitation projection mounts, ring caps and bushings. Comes with a Canmore synthetic pipe bag (Medium), R, G, Hardie blackwood pipe chanter of similar vintage, Canning drone reeds, bag cover and matching cords, Grainger blackwood practice chanter with reed, and a selection of music books, including Scots Guards Volume I and the Gordon Highlanders Volume II.
The pipes definitely show their age, the bass ring cap has a couple of chips, the drones have nicks, and the old varnish is worn. It looks like a couple of the ferrules have been replaced, the blowpipe is not original to the set and the bore in the bass drone middle is off center, not warped, but was originally drilled off center. The projection mounts are all good. I find they tune lower than modern pipes (Tenors 272 on the hemp line), the Canning reeds allow for a good amount of manipulation. Will ship at buyer’s expense.
