There is still time to order before Robert Burns night …this is an elegant sporran that is perfect for the evening wear!
Kinloch Anderson sporrans are highly prized and respected for their beauty and their high quality. Kinloch Anderson sporrans date back 100 years. The company is still in operation and has The Royal Warrants of Appointment as Tailors and Kiltmakers to HM The King. This style EW6 Celtic-patterned, mid-century, silver-plate sporran is a high-quality item that will make an exceptionally fine special gift, or accoutrement acquisition that anyone wearing a kilt would be proud to own and use. The red leather back is embossed with the Kinloch Anderson logo “KA” and “Scotland”.
The silver-plate cantle has a Celtic pattern on each side of the cantle cartouche. The backplate and front fur are in excellent condition and shows no signs of any insect damage. The sporran has been cleaned along with the red leather sporran body, brown pinking (under the cantle). The silverplate cantle, silverplate tassel balls & tassel chains have been cleaned and polished. The sporran back closure is a mid-century tradition stud closure (no snaps to fail here!!).
The sporran has been used but not abused over the years since it was made. The patina is consistent with mid-century construction (I.e., heavy leather construction…not the leatherette-covered cardboard seen with import stuff); the fur, leather, and hardware are in very good condition. The sporran is fully functional for day or evening wear. The brass tassel chains are in excellent condition. The rear frog for attaching chains is present and in good condition.
The sporran measures 9 inches long and 7 inches wide. The cantle is removable for cleaning/polishing and attached to the sporran body using the 3 original stud bolts, washers and nuts; the tassel chains are attached with original split rings. The sporran pouch is clean and fully functional.
