Classic early 1900’s, (John MacColl era) Lawrie Bagpipe. Made from Gaboon Ebony, flat combed with natural mounts and tapered nickel ferrules and drone caps with natural bushings. All pieces are original.
There is a previous repair to a mount on the bass middle section done in the past with the previous owner, but it is tight and has been no issue. The bores run completely straight and true and no cracks present. I purchased these as an heirloom set but find myself currently dedicated to my other sets and feel I would be doing a disservice to this beautiful stand of pipes. So they are for sale once again.
Tone is what you’d come to expect from a classic Lawrie from this period. Bold presence from the bass with a ringing over the top from the tenors that blend beautifully. (Sound clip available).
Sold as stocks & stocks. No original blowpipe, but I’ll include 2 delrin blowpipes from RG Lawrie (Maxistick) with built in valves. I also will include a Moose Valve for the blowpipe stock.
