Up for sale is a set of 2018 Colin Kyo bagpipes. Made in African Blackwood, with Murray’s magnificent engraved silver ferrules, cap rings, chanter band and mouthpiece. The set was originally ordered with nickel ornamentation but Murray likes working in silver better and did so without charging me (this set usually runs $4000+). Blackwood mounts in the David Glen style. The only flaw is a superficial external crack line in the blowpipe stock which has been filled with cyanoacrilate and has not changed since this was done. The crack does not extend to the inner bore, and I have reduced the sales price in consideration of this. The chanter is a killer and I was tempted not to sell it but after all it does belong with the set. The set comes pre-wrapped with waxed polyester on the tuning slides. A copy of the original sales receipt from Murray Huggins will be supplied. This set has a bold, crisp tone with a prominent bass tone for the piper when being played.
