For any piper who is an Army veteran and performs at ceremonial events, this is an Elbeco 17 x 33 long sleeved tan dress uniform shirt. It is adorned with gold colored metal buttons that are removable via included clip backs, with protection strips sewn in to isolate the clips from the wearer. Composition is 65% Dacron polyester and 35% rayon. Wear it open collar with a branch scarf to display the buttons, or with a long tie. You can sew and pin your own military insignia, decorations and badges in the appropriate locations. You can also add a shoulder cord (I have them available, in various colors.) The American flag and Army veteran shoulder patches make it suitable for honor guard or other ceremonial wear with addition of your relevant insignia. See picture for how it was set up in that manner. If you’d like one or both patches removed, I can easily do that for you. It is perfect for your military-themed performances. It’s machine washable and is in excellent condition except for a tiny repair just below the center of the flag patch and shown in the last, magnified picture, as well as a patch imprint on the same sleeve which can be ironed out. It has two permanent military creases at front and three at rear. Whether at a veteran’s funeral or committal service, a Memorial Day observance or other patriotic event, when appearing as a piper this shirt is the ideal garment to add to your kilted outfit.
For a deceased veteran’s solemn occasion I always ask the family if they wish me to appear in civilian dress or in Army veteran’s kilted attire; it’s an option they appreciate regardless of their choice.
