For sale is a 20th Century, Edwardian Scottish Gentleman’s Dirk with Cairngorm stones and silver plate mounts. The dirk has a carved bogwood hilt surmounted with a claw mount holding a large 35mm pommel stone. The grip portion of the hilt has a carved basket weave design. There are smaller claw mounts and smaller stones on both the fork and knife, which are attached to the sheath with chains. The carving on the knife/fork accessories matches that of the hilt and pommel. The silver decorated mounts are deep and depict the traditional theme of Scottish thistles. The top mount has an engraved monogram within a raised oval, within which is engraved CCH. The back side of the sheath shows the top metal strapping stricken twice with made in Glasgow and Made In Scotland stamps.
The 11 1/2″ blade with two fullers and notched spine is in very clean condition and has not been sharpened. The blade is Marked R.G. Lawrie LD. The Highland House, Glasgow Scotland.
The carved bogwood handle and leather sheath are without damage. The weight of the dirk is 1 lb. The overall length is 19″.
