Full ivory circa 1920 Lawrie bagpipes set up and ready to play!
These stunning pipes are made of ebony with ivory projection mounts, ferrules and ring and bush with great patina.
The bass bottom joint has been replicated and replaced because the original bore had been altered and made the bass drone too flat for a modern pitch chanter.
The original section comes with the pipes. If you want to play the original bass bottom, the mounts will thread off the new one and onto the old one as I haven’t glued them on.
At some point, the bass mid pin has been replaced and is a fantastic replacement and runs straight with the bore.
As you can hear from the video (https://youtu.be/gdQ86eks1z4) the pipes have a fantastic harmonic tone.
Pipes are supplied as seen ready to play with original Lawrie pipe chanter (alloy sole added at a later date), imitation mouthpiece, Duncan Soutar pipe chanter reed, Selbie drone reeds, modern plastic pipe chanter, a Canmore medium bag and wooden carry case.
