This is a Gibson Long African Blackwood Practice Chanter w/ Imitation Ivory Sole. About 5 yrs old.
It features:
- Polypenco top with Stainless steel ferrule (requires less maintenance than nickel
- African Blackwood bottom with countersunk holes
- Excellent scale (Gibson has designed one of the most balanced chanters available)
- One PC reed
It is in great shape and has been well cared for. It has a mellow tone although somewhat louder than some other practice chanters. I have acquired several PCs over the years and can’t use them all so I am working on reducing my inventory. I paid $249 for this chanter.
The hemp is waxed polyester thread that does not absorb moisture like regular hemp so it doesn’t swell.
