This is a Gibson Long African Blackwood Practice Chanter w/ Imitation Ivory Sole. About 5 yrs old.
It features:
- Polypenco top with Stainless steel ferrule (requires less maintenance than nickel
- African Blackwood bottom with countersunk holes
- Excellent scale (Gibson has designed one of the most balanced chanters available)
- One PC reed
It is in great shape and has been well cared for. It has a mellow tone although somewhat louder than some other practice chanters. I have acquired several PCs over the years and can’t use them all so I am working on reducing my inventory. I paid $249 for this chanter. If you’re interested in this PC, reasonable offers will be considered.
The hemp is waxed polyester thread that does not absorb moisture like regular hemp so it doesn’t swell.
