This set of Gillander and McLeod bagpipes are in amazing condition. It is likely that they were barely played. The original hemp is still on the pipes. The wood is pristine.
They were purchased in 1997 in Edinburgh, but the pipes were likely made prior to 1997.
The pipes are african blackwood, with imitation ivory mounts and Nickel Ferrules. They come with two blackwood chanters. One make is unknown, but the chanter with the imitation ivory sole is a Gillanders & McLeod chanter. These chanters would likely pitch a bit lower than modern pitch. They have large goretex bannatyne bag and are fitted with Wygent Drone Reeds. They come with a wood carrying case. The case will add to the cost of shipping and is quite small by modern pipe-case standards. The case is free with the pipes, but if you don’t want it, please let us know. The pipes have a black watch bag-cover and matching drone cords. The blowpipe is fitted with a little-mac valve.
