Hunter Uilleann pipes.
This is a gorgeous and very distinctive B set that I got from Sam a few years ago. I’m selling because I hardly ever play it these days.
It is in brass, imitation ivory and wood as follows; chanter is cocobolo, regs Vera wood, drones palosanto. The stock is hollow sycamore with a brass front. Everything is hand rolled, even the internal tubes for the regulators. The bag is Laurence Thomson. There are no bellows with the set, but I can sort out new bellows for around £280 if these are required,
Sam has recently overhauled and re-reeded the set and I have sound files if you pm me. It sounds great. The different timbers used are perfect for their various jobs, the Vera wood regs are muted and warm in relation to the chanter, and the drones have a good buzz. Sam says he wished he could say he planned it that way, but actually it’s pure coincidence. The grain on the chanter is lovely and loud, it will however go much darker with time and light.
