UPDATE
For those of you who have shown an interest in acquiring Ken Eller’s bagpipe, offers will only be accepted until noon on Friday. Details on the bagpipe can be found in my December 29 post. An unbelievably amazing instrument! ❤️🎶
Diane said “It would be a shame if the pipe were not being played”.
Let me give a little background on this amazing instrument. The drones are Henderson, dating to the late 1950s to 1960. Ken had the Stirling silver mounts (Dragon design) added several years ago by David Naill and Company. The silver is stunning. Ken was concerned with the problems associated with ivory and international travel, so he had Rick Pettigrew at Dunbar Bagpipes fit the pipe out with high end imitation ivory.
The pipe comes with a Roddy MacLeod solo blackwood chanter, Kinnaird drone reeds, and a Bannatyne pipe bag. I popped in a new reed yesterday, so while it’s only a rough recording from my phone you should get a fair idea of the richness and depth of the drones. A truly stunning instrument befitting a Captain. It has been an honour preparing the instrument for its next owner and caretaker.
We’re accepting offers over $7000 CDN (plus shipping and insurance) until noon EST on January 10.
