The brief history of the pipes is that the set was handed down to the previous owner in the early 1960s from his late grandfather who was a piper in the army( Cameronians or Cameron highlanders. I can’t remember which )
The grandson replaced the original stocks with Gillanders after discovering a crack in the blowpipe stock and as you can see from the images,the blowpipe stock has been replaced again.
I don’t know the exact age of the set but the conversation that I had with the previous owner would date them 1930s / 40s .The overall condition of the set is very good and I believe the asking price of £850 + postage to be fair.
