Offered for sale is a beautiful half set of Matt Kiernan Uilleann bagpipes, crafted from boxwood. Matt Kiernan is a respected maker that constructed pipes form the 1930s to the 1970s. I am suspecting these come from the later era because of the Catalin bass resonator puck. The other caps are made from ivory and tuning slides are brass. I purchased these with hopes of learning, but I am not a uilleann piper. I think they are in the key of D. Including extras. 2 sets of bellows. Second 3 key chanter blackwood. 3 chanter reeds and reed making supplies. Uilleann book second bag with blow pipe and stock cup fitting attached although the original stock is slightly to large for the fitting. The chanter and Drones are stamped M. Kiernan. The previous owner must have been a plumber as they were set up to play with some plumbing fittings (reason for including second bag). the original brass stock fitting is missing but including a plated piece. Some of the boxwood has some knot and some parts have warped slightly with age, but should be in playable condition. I have only ever played the chanter. This is a wonderful opportunity to own a professionally made set of Uilleann pipes from one of Ireland’s respected pipe makers.
