African blackwood bagpipe chanter. At some point in the past, somebody attempted to scratch out the markings, but “R.G. Hardie Glasgow” can still barely be made out. Others have confirmed that it is indeed a Hardie. I purchased it from a gentleman in Northern Ireland, who claimed that it was one of several matching chanters that had been in use by a pipe band there many years ago. It has a lovely tone.
