Overtone drone reeds (490 Hz) give away. You just need to cover the cost of postage, please.
The tenor reeds work fine.
The bass reed, however, plays too flat on my already low-pitched bass drone. Made worse because the bridle position must be so relaxed, to prevent it from cutting out.
The maker admitted that the reed had been shipped incorrectly set (at 480 Hz instead of the 490 Hz that was ordered). Little else worthwhile help was forthcoming.
The maker suggested I might have direct blown and “gooed” the reed, or that I might have damaged the reed seemingly because I don’t know how to mount it in my instrument. Then, the maker actually Googled me and questioned whether I was a bagpipe player at all.
Since a return postage address has been withheld, I cannot send them back. I also cannot get a refund. Instead, the maker suggests I should flog these reeds to you guys….
