Beautiful set of shepherd SS/6 silver hallmarked / thistle engraved silver bagpipes. Incredible maker that just closed up shop. The hallmarks on the slides and blowpipe on this set indicate Edinburgh 1998. This set has some of the most beautiful imitation ivory I have seen. Also comes with the world renowned shepherd Blackwood chanter! Very smooth , easy to lock in drones, and superb tone from the factory chanter. Comes with shepherd reeds, airtight / factory Canmore Medium bag, black silver bag cover, silver drone cords, and older hard case. Premium instrument and just one that I never get around to because , well, it’s too nice for me to play with the band!! Set is coming up on 30 years of age but is in great shape! You can expect some minor knicks/things here and there- but nothing major.. the imitation ivory ring on the top of a few tuning pins has been removed- see the photo showing the tuning pins(two are black and one has an ivory cap- that is what I’m referring too). You would never know anything was missing!! Visually astonishing… will be professionally packed and shipped fully insured. Thanks for looking Original specs below:: Shepherd SS/6 Bagpipes are the first set of pipes in the Shepherd Bagpipes Range featuring hallmarked engraved sterling silver. They are made from turned African Blackwood which is fully combed and beaded and are finished with what is commonly described as full ivory. They include imitation ivory projecting mounts and ferrules on each drone and imitation ivory ferrules on each stock. The bell tops are finished with imitation ivory ringcaps and the blowpipe is finished with an imitation ivory mouthpiece which has a silver slide. The drone and mouthpiece slides are made from hallmarked engraved sterling silver and are available in Thistle,
