Smallpipes in the key of A.
Year: 2000
Material: African Blackwood. The tuning slides are all corked and incredibly smooth to tune.
Details:
I purchased these in 2000. They’re a wonderful set of pipes and were played regularly for about 5 years and then college and life took over. In 2010 I took them with me to the Philippines for a couple week trip from Eastern Washington where it’s really dry. The reeds did not like the humidity change at all and at the time I didn’t have the patience to work with the reeds to get them back into playing shape. In short, they sat for a couple of years before I made another attempt. I got a new Bannatyne synthetic bag for them in 2016 and gave them some more TLC. Got everything running halfway decently, but just didn’t have the interest in them anymore.
In playing condition and happy to send a video with me playing them. The drone reeds need some adjustment because they’re taking a bit more air than they should. Chanter reed is basically new, but hasn’t been played and needs some time on it.
