Presenting here a rare find indeed. Robert Reid (The king of pipers) African blackwood, nickel and catalin set from 1940s. These had never been put into regular play before I bought them a few months ago. I am told by “Source bagpipes” that they were part of a collection held by the Reid family that was sold off a few years ago. They show absolutely no sign of use. Even the original Bakelite mouthpiece doesn’t have a mark on it. I have gently brought them back to life with short periods of play and a very light oiling of the bores. They have been kept in a humidity controlled case. I am including a poly “Big Bore” blowpipe and split stock to give the buyer the option of not using the original if so desired. The original RR blackwood blowstick and stock are in perfect condition. There is a surface crack in one mount on the bass bottom section. It was there when I received the pipes and has not moved. Selling a sticks, stocks, extra blowpipe and stock and the original RR. chanter which play nicely at Bb flat (466). Shipping with tracking and insurance is £27 gbp. Paypal preferred.
