A set of African Blackwood bagpipes, maker unknown. Fantastic condition!
These pipes were played until the early 1990s by the previous owner who had bought them sometime before that, exact dates are unknown.
The nickel tapered ferrules and slides are original to the pipes, but the mounts have been replaced with replica aged imitation ivory mounts due to being badly chipped.
The pipes have been cleaned up and oiled inside and out to introduce moisture back into the wood as they had been unplayed for a while. Wood is crack free.
These pipes have a first-class tone, very well robust rounded sound with a great balance between all three drones, lock in VERY quickly.
Pipes are supplied ready to play with:
– Kilberry Bagpipes pipe chanter
– Duncan Soutar chanter reed
– Selbie tenor drone reeds
– Michael Frazer Bass drone reed
– Canmore medium synthetic zipper bag with 4 collars
– navy blue bag cover
– navy cords.
– Kilter carry case, is in functional condition but shows signs of use
