Lovely stand of 1940’s/early 50’s era Lawrie blackwood bagpipes. They are fully combed and beaded with Celluloid ferrules and projection mounts. The wood and mounts are in excellent condition and the bores are arrow straight. At some point the bass mid-joint was swapped out and the stocks are replacements from a similar era. Once set up, they have a very rich, harmonious tone.
Note: There is some minor discoloration on the mounts, especially the bass drone ring cap, which I think is an old seasoning stain, and the water marks on the bag are from the airtight test I do on all used bags.
They come with a Bannatyne hide synthetic zippered pipe bag (L), a set of Naill drone reeds, a Naill poly bagpipe chanter, bag cover and cords. All ready to play! Local pick-up will include a pipe case.
Will ship at buyer’s expense. Asking $1,400 CDN/$1000 USD.
