Lovely stand of Robert Gillanders Sr. bagpipes, fully combed and beaded with brand new nickel slides, as well as new imitation ferrules, projection mounts, bushings and ring caps. The pipes date from the late 1950’s to early 1960’s (prior to the merger with McLeod in 1972) and come with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). The blowpipe is a polypenco replacement with matching projection mount and mouthpiece. The pipes come with a period Peter Henderson blackwood pipe chanter, a polypenco Dunbar pipe chanter and a polypenco Warmac pipe chanter with cap. Also included is a set of Shepherd SM/90 Drone Reeds, a set of Overtone Drone Reeds by Terrance Ackland, a Moose Valve, a Bannatyne zippered synthetic bagpipe bag (Medium) with bottle water trap, and a pipe bag cover with cords.
The pipes are in excellent condition, bores are smooth and arrow straight. A vintage set by a classic Scottish maker! Will ship at buyer’s expense, local pickup will include a pipe case. Asking $1,300 CDN/$950 USD.
