Vintage Grainger & Campbell set of pipes. Catalin mounts, after having a few different folks look at these- my best guess is they are from the 60s. The drones have a very strong Henderson bass sound. I’ll post a clip here of this actual set being struck in and played! They strike in super easy!!!Set was purchased from a retired Piper who purchased them originally!

Overall they are an impressive set of pipes and in good shape for their age!! they sound incredible!!! I just oiled/rehemped/ cleaned them.
When cleaning them I did discover two things-
-one of the tenor slide/ tuning pins has a hairline crack in it and the chanter stock has cracks on both sides— see photos. If either of those spots is leaking, it’s not much! I corked the stocks and everything held as a perfect set would.
The chanter is not original- the chanter included is a lawrie believed to be from the same era- even has a very close matched aged catalin sole!! Chanter sounds good and blends well with the set- chanter is Blackwood.
The blowstick that I’m including is not original and is a spare I had lying around- the blowstick does have a crack in it but is not appearing to leak much if any- I am playing with the included blowstick on the sound clip video below
Imperfections could be fixed pretty
Simply, they do Not seem to be significantly effecting the performance of the set.
Set is vintage so expect wear and again here and there- overall structurally sound, sound great, look good and ready to rock! I have played these at our last few band practices and gotten great comments!!
Downsizing for other projects
Set will come with a brand new bannatyne Willie McCallum hybrid bag, bag cover, and red drone cords- reeds are not included!
Shipping will be whatever it costs! Thanks!
