These vintage Hendersons have an amazing stable and beautiful tone and have taken numerous top solo prizes, including the silver at the Argyllshire Gathering, as well as successful Grade 1 band competitions with Boghall and Bathgate. Greig Sharp (manager Hendersons pipes) identified them as 1928 Hendersons but others have said the dimensions are genuinely unique and not typical of Henderson’s from that year. They also have a unique scribe line above the tuning chamber and different looking nickel ferrules so their exact history is a bit of a mystery. The cracks in the ivory ringcaps were just reviewed and stabilized by Roddy MacLellan (TK MacLellan & Co), and the blowpipe stock is not original (poly replacement). These are an absolute top stand of pipes with an impressive competition history. The sale is for sticks and stocks (ex shipping) but they can be set up with a Bannatyne WMC hybrid hide bag for an additional cost.
