A rare opportunity to own a stunning set of vintage Peter Henderson bagpipes. These drones date to the mid-sixties when Gregg Sharpe, as shop manager, brought the brand back to prominence. These pipes were played competitively by a Grade One piper in Western Ontario in the late sixties. Henderson is stamped in all three cord guides. The bass stock ferrule has had a crack that has been professionally repaired/sealed and the remaining stock ferrules have been replaced and aged by David Naill & Co. to perfectly match the patina of the original natural drone mounts. The pipes are free of any cracks and the bores are smooth and laser straight. There are a few knicks consistent with a 60+ year of instrument that I have tried to reflect in the pictures. Classic Henderson sound, with harmonious tenors and dominant bass.
They have just had a cleaning and light refinish by Dunbar and come with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) from Ringo Bowen. Free North American shipping, local pickup will include the origianl wooden pipe box.
Sticks, stocks, blowpipe and chanter: $3,000 USD
Will include a Gannaway hide zippered bag (M), new and never been sealed, and a custom set of Mark Lee Rocket Drone reeds for an additional $400 USD.
